Supplements summary

There are separate pages on some Supplements.

I try to eat a healthy diet with a variety of vegetables and do not take more than the Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) of any vitamin.  If you take too much of one vitamin, it could result in deficiency in another so I do not take high dose of any vitamin.  And, there are vitamins that actually stimulate my cancer! (Avoid iron, copper, folate, B12, glutamine & all forms of MSG)

A great resource is www.consumerlab.com

It costs $64 per year for a subscription to consumerlab but is well worth it! – they do studies on vitamins (check for impurities and that vitamins have what they say they have) and the website provides  links to studies – and the best articles on probiotics I have seen!

  • green leafy vegetables- kale, spinach, romaine etc- I have every night with olive oil based dressing
  • colorful vegetables like red, orange, yellow bell peppers, red cabbage, tomatoes. etc. (watch carb count)
  • sulfur containing vegetables like broccoli, horseradish, cauliflower, onion, garlic

Beware of Multivitamins, they often contain things that are not good:

  • folate – I do not take in vitamin form.  It seems to be fine to eat food with folate.
  • Do not take iron – it also stimulates my cancer – be careful not to use cast iron pans
  • avoid glutathione
  • avoid N acetyl-cysteine
  • avoid copper stimulates cancer.
  • B12 stimulates MM

  • Natren Healthy Trinity-  Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium bifidum, Lactobacillus bulgaricus
  • Saccharomyces Boulardii (If I take one of these within an hour of an antibiotic, I do not have a flare up of C-Diff!)
  • Dr Mercola Complete Probiotics

4. Black Cumin Seed (Nigella Sativa)-  the seeds are less processed and I put about 1/2 tsp on my smoothie every day

Other Supplements that have been shown to have anticancer properties are:

  • Resveratrol-

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16427027 Resveratrol may have potential as a novel therapeutic agent for the patients with B cell malignancies including multiple myeloma. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21723843 Resveratrol suppresses multiple myeloma MM http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17935668 Resveratrol may be a potential candidate for the treatment of multiple myeloma.

  • IP6 – I have not tried this one but it chelates iron out of body.  So, need to be sure you do not get anemic from overuse.  If you take Curcumin, it also chelates iron out of body – so do not need both
